![]() Greg Farshtey's best year of writing Bionicle. Still, the animations were great despite being a bit cheesy, and I love watching them.Ģ006: Of course this one was high. Honestly the books weren't as good quality as G1, and the story was mostly a rehash of 2001. Only a few pages of the comics didn't make it into Beware the Bohrok, and unlike Tale of the Toa, Beware the Bohrok felt like it was mostly written to include a book for the 2002 story.Ģ015: I feel weird putting 2015 so high. Unfortunately the comics began doubling up on the books this year, and reading both feels like doubling up on almost all elements. No MNOG game was released this year, but the Online Animations were great, and the book Beware the Bohrok was just as great as the first. Points do have to be docked for the GBA game Tale of the Tohunga for telling a relevent part of the story while clearly not consulting with the rest of the storytelling team, and some early-installment weirdness when Nuju speaks in the first comic.Ģ002: Cathy Hapka wrote another excellent book, and the Bohrok were an amazing foe for the Toa. The audience can read either the comics, the book, or MNOG, and understand the story (minus the clash with Makuta in the comics), or experience all three without "doubling up" on most elements with a couple of minor exceptions. One of my favourite things about 2001 is that even though the story was told in many different forms of media, they all tell mostly the same story with very little overlap. Hapka can very effectively tell one story from many points of view, something Farshtey would struggle with when he took over writing the books. Even though it talks down to the audience a bit more than Farshtey's books, it had excellent pacing, character development, and a sense of adventure. The next would show Onua exploring the island. Tale of the Toa made excellent use of it's six characters, telling one story from six different points of view. The book Tale of the Toa, although written in 2003, was one of the best books that introduced a new cast. MNOG was the peak of non-written Bionicle media and remains one of my favourite things about Bionicle, even after a further 12 years. yikes!Ģ001: I'm sure there's a level of nostalgia speaking, but I love the 2001 story. 2010.Įdit: can't believe I just wrote an essay on bonkle. most of the new pieces, though they looked cool, were not very useful out of their intended sets. the continuation of the awful socket redesign, and 2. In my opinion its downfall was twofold: 1. The aesthetic was weird and mostly boring, but the sets introduced some great pieces.Ģ009 had a much better aesthetic and some fantastic titans. It was also the last year to be iterative on the original designs.Ģ006 served as a soft reboot and although I'm not a fan of the more organic aesthetic or the "build a body and then clip on armor" building technique which replaced the integrated design of the earlier sets, I enjoyed the story and the ridiculous attempts at being hip with the kids.Ģ007 improved on most of the earlier years' shortcomings, with a more engaging story and mainline sets that could no longer be described as "I am a horse of a different color." The titans are some of the best in the series and loads of awesome new pieces were introduced.Ģ008 was also a mixed bag for me, with an unappealing story and a terrible redesign of the ball-and-socket joints, which would now sometimes break as you assembled the set for the first time. On the whole the year gave us a lot of cool and useful pieces. On the one hand, the mainline sets were a bit crap but the titans were fantastic. The story and setting were also intriguing.Ģ005 was a mixed bag. Some of the titans were good but the Toa Nuva had outgrown the Mata bodies and just looked weird.Ģ004 was great with a proper evolution of the Bionicle building system and some really fun titans. These are my favorite.Ģ003 tried to advance the current dynamic but in my opinion fell a little flat. The technic-heavy rahi and titans were fantastic. 20 had my favorite aesthetic and atmosphere, and the story and setting were both appealing.

The Scannerz continued a bit with a new guitar player (Michael) and Gonzo back on drums, playing more in a 60’s beat style but it didn’t last and by the end of the decade the band was no longer in activity. The band kept on with another drummer (Johannes Bokskopf wasn’t able to join the band full time, which maybe explains why you can’t see the face of the drummer on the cover of the album) called Gammel but the musical direction changed and Semmel left the band. Sadly this is the sole release of the band (with the exception of one demo). The first step, assuming you already have a project created in Zend Studio, is to add a server to the project configuration. More on how to verify this IP from the client later. Also, if using Zend Debugger ensure the IP of the client is added to the whitelist. Zend Debugger can try to do this automatically, or an IP can be manually specified within Zend Debugger or Xdebug. Also, ensure the debugger of choice “knows” where to find the IDE to be debugging from. While this post doesn’t cover how to install Zend Debugger or Xdebug, ensure one of these are set up correctly. ![]() NOTE: If the desire is to use a local server the setup is much simpler. In Zend Studio I had a project created with the Zend Framework Skeleton Application, and created a virtualhost in the virtual environment that mirrored that. Also, I did this using a local VirtualBox virtual machine, using Bridged networking mode to simulate a remote server. I was doing this on an Ubuntu laptop, so while menus may vary slightly the process should be very similar regardless of OS. So I decided to create this post to remind me later, and perhaps help others get it set up. Recently I was helping someone set up step debugging of PHP in Zend Studio to debug a remote site, and had some difficulties. When compared to prior video generation methods, we observed that Phenaki could generate arbitrarily long videos conditioned on an open-domain sequence of prompts in the form of time-variable text, or a story. ![]() To address the data issues, we demonstrate that joint training on a large corpus of image-text pairs and a smaller number of video-text examples can result in generalization beyond what is available in the video datasets alone. To address the first two issues, Phenaki leverages its two main components:Īn encoder-decoder model that compresses videos to discrete embeddings, or tokens, with a tokenizer that can work with variable-length videos thanks to its use of causal attention in time.Ī transformer model that translates text embeddings to video tokens: we use a bi-directional masked transformer conditioned on pre-computed text tokens to generate video tokens from text, which are subsequently de-tokenized to create the actual video. Generating videos from text is particularly challenging due to various factors, such as high computational cost, variable video lengths, and limited availability of high quality text-video data. We present Phenaki, a model that can synthesize realistic videos from textual prompt sequences.
